The Great Lakes Sea Kayaking Association (GLSKA) is a non-profit association whose goal is to promote the activity of sea kayaking in the Great Lakes area. The club is run entirely by its volunteer members. We employ no paid staff and charge no fees for our trips or activities other than those designed to recover shared costs and expenses. Here’s what we offer:
- club trips and day-paddles – from local waters to Lake Superior
- an annual “Rendezvous” – 3 days of camp, paddling, instructional workshops
and entertainment in Georgian Bay - winter pool sessions – learn or polish your paddling skills in warm water
- environmental and conservation projects.
Go to our TRIPS & PADDLES and our EVENTS pages to see what we have planned for the next few months.
To start enjoying all this, go to the “JOIN/CONTACT page” and you can join the club online.

GLSKA and Georgian Bay
Georgian Bay is considered by many to be possibly the best freshwater sea kayaking area in the world. We agree: our members spend a lot of time paddling there and in gratitude we try to give something back to the Bay. We help clean up and renovate heavily-used campsites on the islands and we have placed, and help maintain, back-country privies at many of these sites.
We are also a sponsor of the Georgian Bay Land Trust. Since 1991, the Georgian Bay Land Trust has protected the lands of the world’s largest freshwater archipelago.
