There are many paddling areas on the Bruce Peninsula. On the west side is Lake Huron with relatively shallow water near shore. On the east is Georgian Bay and this part of Lake Huron is deep and cold near shore. The northern part includes Fathom Five National Park, a marine park popular with scuba divers for its clear water and many wrecks.
The Bruce Peninsula is the northern part of the Niagara Escarpment. Its limestone cliffs contrast sharply with the low rocks of the Laurentian Shield that form the islands on the eastern side of Georgian Bay.
GLSKA’s Georgian Bay Committee has put together reports on 9 areas on the Bruce Peninsula, each of which has appeared in our newsletter, Qayaq. To view any of these reports, place your mouse cursor over the appropriate yellow region.
