Total paddle length is 14 – 15 k for the entire outing. The lake is oriented North and South. Outbound paddle will likely be along the west coastline with 2 open crossings of about 1 km. Lunch will be at the far end of the lake (approximately. 7k) at the small village of Belwood. Take out for lunch is at a boat launching ramp with adjacent dock. The village is a very short walk and offers a corner store with excellent made to order deli style sandwiches and very scrumptious butter tarts and picnic tables. There is also a restaurant there with a take out counter across the street. The return paddle will likely be along the east coast with limited open crossings again about 7 km back to the start point.
There are park fees to be paid upon entry at a nominal rate. Possible rain date is Sunday.
