GLSKA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

GLSKA’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 249 Dufferin Street South in Alliston. (This facility is again being made available thanks to Sam Wyss.)

The day will begin at 10:15 a.m. with an opportunity for members to register, meet and enjoy a beverage. Information sessions are being planned and will be announced prior to the event. These sessions will start at 10:45. At noon a light lunch will be provided by GLSKA. A keynote speaker is also being sought for the event. Any suggestions or volunteers are welcome. The business portion of the meeting will is expected to begin at around 1:45 p.m. with reports from our president, treasurer and various committees. There will be opportunities to participate, ask questions and discuss issues. As always, volunteers for committees or as directors are welcome.

We need to elect three members to the board. Treasurer Karen Granville, Secretary Keith Rodgers and Director at Large Scott Innes are at the end of their two-year terms. Please contact any current member of the Board if you would like to nominate member or yourself. Board membership is a satisfying endeavour that is an opportunity to contribute and assure the continued success of the club. Time requirements are modest and nominations can be made at the meeting. The meeting is expected to adjourn by 5:00 p.m. The meeting’s agenda and directions were sent out with the autumn issue of Qayaq.

During the socializing and lunch periods, a slide show with photographs from recent trips will be shown. Please bring your pictures on a memory key, CD or DVD. Karen Granville will coordinate the slide show. Anyone who would like to present a morning skill session is asked to contact Karen as well. Typical subjects could be map reading, GPS use, compass skills, etc.
