Massasauga Provincial Park – Georgian Bay: May 3-5, 2024

Trip Description:

Easing into the season, two night base camp with option to extend to the 3rd night. Hoping to have two campsites close to each other, 10 km from car parking. Paddling 20 km/day. Exploring around Moon Island may be exposed to Georgian Bay winds and 1 metre waves, 2 KM crossings in sheltered areas can also experience choppy half meter waves and strong winds. Camp fees about $15/night/person, plus parking fees.
Participants must have practiced self-rescues and assisted rescues within the past 12 months. Bring your own equipment and supplies.

As it is early in the season and the water will be cold, cold water immersion gear will be required. A drysuit is highly recommended, a wet suit may also be acceptable.
