Rendezvous 2017

You are invited to GLSKA’S 29th Annual Rendezvous which will be held at Oak Point Friday, June 16 to Sunday, June 18, 2017. The campground is located next to the Wasauksing Marina, at the west end of Parry Island (about 25 km from Parry Sound).

The route will be well signed. We have enjoyed this location for many years because of its central location to many Georgian Bay destinations. The weekend will kick off with a welcoming social including a cheese tray and your own choice of beverage. On Saturday there will be a variety of on-land and on-water skill seasons led by White Squall and some member-led trips. During the evening, your appetite for good food will be more than satisfied at our pot luck dinner where the offerings of the many chefs among us will guarantee that you don’t go to bed hungry. Afterwards we will be entertained by Katherine Wheatley who is coming back for a second time.

The fees remain the same as in previous years and cover the cost of camping, the White Squall sessions and the entertainment. You must of course bring your own gear, food and any pot luck contribution you plan to make. Camping sites are on a first come first served basis. A final program notification will be communicated in early June – we hope to see you there!

To attend, please download, complete and mail the registration form. Remember that if you bring a guest, please have them sign our waiver and include it with the registration form. Participants wishing to pay the registration fee online through their bank can do so by sending the payment, payable to glska, to karen granville’s email: granvilles@rogers.com (if you have any questions about this method of payment please contact karen). The amount remitted must match that of the total on Page 2 of your completed registration form. Please note that the registration form (and waiver for your guest, if applicable) must still be sent by mail to Chantal Locatelli.

GLSKA Annual General Meeting 2016

The good news first – the club remains solvent, about the same number of trips were enjoyed this year as last, and our 2016 Rendezvous was greatly enjoyed. On the disappointing side of the ledger, our membership numbers continue to experience a slow decline. On the 29th October 20 members turned up at the Port … Read more
