We are all hoping for a better paddling season this year versus last. While I do expect this to be the case I believe that there will still be many challenges for the upcoming spring and summer season. Hopefully we will not be fully locked down and have much of our paddling areas off limits as we did for parts of 2020.As I’m sure all of you can appreciate trying to organize any type of group event, even four months out, is quite impossible at this time. Furthermore it is unlikely that the First Nations will even allow group access to the Oak Island site in the spring. When the Marina at Oak Point opens in May it is our intent to explore options with the First Nations for a possible fall gathering. I call it a gathering as in all likelihood it would at best be much more of an individual camping event with day paddling activities. Anything more than that at this point seems unlikely.
Keep well and be safe. We will keep you informed of possibilities for the fall as they become clearer.
