Trip Description:

We will paddle from Rossport to Hattie Cove with daily paddling 20–30 km (7 days paddling 150 km). As the nature of Lake Superior, we could have to deal with 2 m waves, long crossing in the fog and long distance paddling days when necessary. Participants will be expected maintaining a 6 km/h paddling speed for couple of hours in wind conditions and a session before the trip to practice rescues, towing and discuss best practices for rough water.

We will explore the shoreline east of the Rossport Islands, will see steep towering cliffs, beautiful cobble beaches, absolutely fantastic and beautiful vistas. This is a pristine and isolated area. There are no official designated or maintained campsites. Mostly unsheltered paddling; expect reflective waves and surf launching and landings from/on bolder beaches. With extreme conditions and hazardous weather, we need
to prepare wind bound days and early start or early get off water days. We need to be flexible adapting our paddling to the water / weather conditions.

Details (ie. meeting location, time) will be informed after we finalize participants, shuttle (fee expected) etc.

Notes:

**Wet or dry suits are mandatory due to the cold water temperatures.**
Participants are responsible for their own paddling gears including helmets, food, transportation and accommodation / camping fees.
