The Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race takes place on Saturday, August 9th 2014.
This is the fourth year for the Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race. Last year’s race saw 180 racers from the area and as far away as New York state. The race was a total success, seeing adults and kids being active and enjoying the great outdoors. With an even bigger turnout anticipated for this summer’s race, organizers are happy about the race’s positive economic impact for the region.
“Volunteers are the foundation of this race” emphasizes Leigh Grigg, “and there are a ton of different volunteer roles needed on Friday and Saturday, August 8th and 9th, at various locations from Neyaashiinigmiing to Wiarton. Even if you even have just a few of hours in the morning to donate and wanted to paddle the area anyway… well, you can assist with on-water safety! At the end of your day we’ll make sure you’re rewarded & appreciated.”
“Roles range from drivers to pull kayak trailers, paddlers to sweep the short course to assisting with some advance planning with the safety team. With approximately 100 volunteers helping out with last years event it’s a great community atmosphere & it’s as much fun for volunteers as it is for racers,” adds Jack Van Dorp. Please consider volunteering!
All volunteers will be rewarded with an official BPMR volunteer gift and a delicious lunch in Bluewater Park. A GLSKA group of 3 or more will be provided with a complimentary campsite.
