Wear Your PFD Day May 16, 2015

To kick off National Safe Boating Week, the National Safe Boating Council is having a North American Wear Your PFD Day: http://www.readysetwearit.com/
They are going for a world record of the most peeps wearing a PFD on the same day. May 16, is the day.

There are no registered events for Toronto (only one in Barrie). So we decided plan an event, and as Lake Ontario is still cold, we contacted Island Lake Conservation in Orangeville. This is shallow lake (average about 6′) and warms up early. They also have boat rentals so this would allow others to join. And best of all, free admission to the park for participants who RSVP to david@dragonsong.ca Dave will provide a list of who is attending to the ILC, so please email him and ask for RSVP.
Location: Island Lake Conservation in Orangeville.

The plan is a 10:00-12:00 noon paddle, proceed with a photo of every one wearing their PFD. We can then go for a paddle and (optionally) go for lunch @ a local watering hole. ‎ See you on the 16th, I’ll be there about 9:00 – remember to spread the word, facebook etc…

On the day:
Get participants to sign attendance
Take picture
Go for a paddle

See you on the 16th, I’ll be there about 9:00 – remember to spread the word, facebook etc…
Thanks… Kirk Boyd
