The somewhat protected waters of Stokes Bay and Myles Bay on the west side of the Bruce Peninsula provide an excellent area for a single-day loop-trip. The trip is approximately 12 kilometres in length and requires about 4 hours of leisurely paddling not including sightseeing stops or refreshment breaks.

This trip can be done either as a 20 kilometre round trip, (which would include the circumnavigation of Cove Island), or a shorter day-trip involving visits to the island’s picturesque west coast, or as one component of a multi-day excursion involving camping on Flowerpot Island.
This park, located at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula, is the perfect location for a multi-day trip where the paddler can explore the many islands making up the park from a base camp on Flowerpot island, the only location in the park where camping is permitted. Shorter day-trips involving visits to any of the islands nearer the mainland are also possible.

Parafoil kites are great toys and make wonderful sails for kayaks. Wind fills the open cells in the kite, creating a wing that gives remarkable pulling power.
