Rendezvous 2015 June 19-21 Oak Point, Parry Island

Updated May 8, 2015. Please see update below.

Join us this year for the 27th Annual Rendezvous. Build upon your knowledge and skills and expand your circle of kayaking friends for future adventures.

We will be returning to Oak Point Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21. The campground is located next to the Wasauksing Marina, at the west end of Parry Island (about 25 km. from Parry Sound). The route will be well signed. We have enjoyed this location for many years because of its central location to many Georgian Bay destinations.

Our program will include a variety of workshops and skill sessions both on the water and off. Again this year, White Squall will be leading several sessions on Saturday. They were very popular last year and we are pleased to include them again this year. The weekend will kick off on Friday night with a  welcoming social including a cheese tray and your own choice of beverage. On Saturday evening your appetite for good food will be more than satisfied at our pot luck dinner where the offerings of the many chefs among us will guarantee that you don’t go to bed hungry. Afterwards there will be live musical entertainment to round off the evening.

White Squall will as usual provide rental kayaks for those interested and deliver them free of charge to our site. Call them directly to make arrangements (705)-342-5324.

Plans are still being finalized. If you have any suggestions or input for our program please get in touch with any of our committee Members.

  • Half-day and full-day paddling trips throughout the weekend
  • Saturday morning on-land and on-water workshops

Update:

The May 15 early bird deadline is fast approaching and our Rendezvous program planning is almost complete. There are a wide variety of White Squall Sessions and Member-led paddling trips planned as well as the Friday night wine and cheese, the Saturday pot-luck, and as a special treat, Katherine Wheatley will be entertaining us. Katherine grew up in Parry Sound. Her music has been used for documentaries, tv series and films. According to the Toronto Star, Katherine Wheatley “turns pebbles of every day life into dreamy mountains of song”.
