This is your invitation to join us at this year’s 28th Annual Rendezvous. Build your knowledge and skills, renew past acquaintances and expand your circle of kayaking friends.
The Rendezvous will be held Oak Point Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 19. The campground is located next to the Wasauksing Marina, at the west end of Parry Island (about 25 km. from Parry Sound). The route will be well signed. We have enjoyed this location for many years because of its central location to many Georgian Bay destinations.
Our program will include a variety of workshops and skill sessions both on the water and off. Again this year, White Squall will be leading several on-water sessions on Saturday. These were very popular last year and we are pleased to include them again this year. The weekend will kick off on Friday night with a welcoming social including a cheese tray and your own choice of beverage. On Saturday evening, your appetite for good food will be more than satisfied at our pot luck dinner where the offerings of the many chefs among us will guarantee that you don’t go to bed hungry. Afterwards, to round off the evening, there will be live musical entertainment by singer and story teller, David Newland.
The fees remain the same as in previous years and cover the cost of camping, the White Squall sessions and the entertainment. You must of course bring your own gear and all camping sites are on a first come first served basis.
To help us schedule the various workshops and paddling trips, please indicate your choices on the registration form. For the White Squall sessions, indicate your first three choices by marking 1, 2 or 3 on the form. Page 3 has more details about these sessions.
If you wish to rent a kayak, please contact White Squall directly:(705) 342-5324.
Lastly, the early bird deadline is May 15. Details regarding payment are on Page 2.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me, or Chantel Locatelli.
Hope to see you on June 17.
