If there is enough interest, we will have three Saturday sessions at the D A Morrison pool, east of Woodbine Avenue and between Danforth Avenue and O’Connor Drive on Saturday afternoons, April 25th and May 2nd and 9th from 3:15 to 5 PM. This is in addition to the pool sessions in Burlington on Sundays April 11th, 18th and 25th. The pools that we’ve used for the last three years (Regent Park and Jimmie Simpson) were not available at a convenient time. The cost will depend on the number of paddlers but will be in the range of $60 to $80 (total) for all three sessions. This is MUCH cheaper than commercial rentals. You are expected to bring your own perfectly clean boat (no sand, mud or dirt INSIDE or out). If we put dirt into the pool, we jeopardize being able to continue using the pool. Whatever level you are at, this is your opportunity to practice rescue techniques and try paddling techniques in a warm, safe environment. You can work on your own, or in small groups to improve your stroke, edging, bracing, wet exits and re-entries, or rolls. Instruction and guidance will be provided by experienced GLSKA members. We also need some experienced GLSKA members to volunteer 🙂 If you are interested, please contact Mike Maloney ASAP so he can confirm the pool booking via e-mail – mike.a.maloney@gmail.com or at 647-349-4991 with the following information: name, e-mail address, home phone number, whether you can bring a boat, your kayaking experience and your GLSKA membership status. For insurance purposes you must be a 2015 GLSKA member in good standing in order to participate.
